Having wowed audiences and critics on its hit international tour and chosen by Oprah to lead her OWN Supersoul Sessions, Djembé! now makes its US premiere in Chicago’s Apollo Theater.

The show has been created to appeal to all ages and combines powerful storying-telling with uplifting music, including iconic hits by Pharrell Williams and Prince.

Djembé! Is the creation of British artist and social entrepreneur Doug Manuel and co-written by Director West Hyler (Jersey Boys, Cirque du Soleil’s Paramour on Broadway, iLuminate, Big Apple Circus).

Parking, directions, and general theater information

Box Office

The Apollo Theater is located in the heart of Chicago’s popular Lincoln Park neighborhood, with assisted valet parking at the north side of the building. For more information, visit the Theater’s website here.

Choose Prepaid Parking by clicking here. Buy parking on site for $20/car. This is cash only. (ATM’s are located nearby.) Attendants will direct you to a parking spot, but they will not take your keys.

The Apollo is also easily accessible by CTA trains and buses. The Fullerton “L” stop (Red, Brown & Purple lines) is located only a few minutes away from the theater. For CTA maps and schedules, visit www.transitchicago.com.

From South & Western Suburbs / Indiana via Lake Shore Drive:

  • Take 90/94 to Lake Shore Drive via 55 (Stevenson)
  • Take Lake Shore Drive North to Fullerton Avenue
  • Exit at Fullerton Avenue (Lincoln Park Zoo/Depaul)
  • Take Fullerton to Lincoln Avenue (major intersection where Lincoln and Halsted cross Fullerton)
  • Take a soft right onto Lincoln Avenue North.

Via Kennedy Expressway:

  • Take 90/94 (Dan Ryan turns into the Kennedy Expressway) to Fullerton Avenue
  • Exit Fullerton Avenue (Lincoln Park Zoo/DePaul)
  • Exit on Fullerton and head East toward the lake until you get to intersection of Lincoln and Halsted.
  • Take a sharp left onto Lincoln Avenue North

Via Eisenhower Expressway:

  • Take 290 (Eisenhower) to 90/94 (Kennedy Expressway)
  • Take 90/94 (Dan Ryan turns into the Kennedy Expressway) to Fullerton Avenue
  • Exit Fullerton Avenue (Lincoln Park Zoo/DePaul)
  • Exit on Fullerton and head East toward the lake until you get to intersection of Lincoln and Halsted.
  • Take a sharp left onto Lincoln Avenue North.

Via Eden’s Expressway:

  • Take 290 (Edens) to 90/94 (Kennedy Expressway)
  • Take 90/94 (Kennedy) to Fullerton Avenue
  • Exit on Fullerton and head East toward the lake until you get to intersection of Lincoln and Halsted.
  • Take a sharp left onto Lincoln Avenue North.
  • The Apollo Theatre is approximately Two Blocks North of Fullerton Avenue on the West side of the street

The Apollo Theater cannot accommodate bus parking. Parking for buses is available on either side of Irving Park Road between tracks and Clark Street. Contact the box office or your group sales representative for details and directions.
